1979

The Original Sony Walkman was released.

1980

In 1980 Yorkshire Catering Equipment Company was founded. It started out in Leeds on Barkly Road in the old Co-Op building.

1981

The first PC hit the market!

1983

The Original Nintendo is released.

1984

First commercially available mobile phone on the market.

1989

The Original Gameboy is released!

1990

The world wide web is launched!

1991

In 1991 Lyndon Moorby joined the business as a draughtsman. He introduced CAD to the office (which had no computers at the time!) in around 1994.

1994

First USB technology began.

1994

Businesses started building e-commerce websites such as Amazon, Ebay & Yahoo.

1995

Java programming language is developed.

1996

In 1996, the company purchased a second hand equipment company & moved to larger premises in Batley on Bradford Road.

The company Rebranded to YCE Catering Equipment and evolved into more of a projects-based business.

1998

Google is founded!

2001

The first iPod is released by Apple.

2002

Blackberry introduced the Smartphone.

2004

Google announces the launch of Gmail.

2006

The Macbook Pro is launched by Apple.

2007

Lyndon Moorby became a business owner alongside Richard Isherwood.

2007

The first iPhone is released by Apple.

2009

In 2009 the company rebranded again to YCE Catering equipment Ltd

2010

The original iPad is on sale from Apple.

2011

Siri on Apple products is introduced.

2012

In September 2012 the business moved once more to its current premises in Gildersome Spur.

2013

In 2013 Nick Brassett Joined the company as a Business Development Manager.

2013

The first creation of human embryonic stem cells by cloning.

2014

Apple pay is released.

2015

The Apple smart watch is launched onto the market.

2016

In 2016 YCE were finalists in a CEDA Grand Prix award for the work we did at Resorts world, Birmingham.

2016

The Amazon Echo is released.

2018

In 2018 Chef’s Table our development kitchen facility opened up to new and existing customers!

2018

3D metal printing is now possible.

2019

In 2019 Richard Isherwood retired and Nick Brassett became joint shareholder with Lyndon.
